How to search the database
The search can be done by phenotype of interest, by plant code or by family name.
The results diplay the phenotype of each plant with a photo of the entire plant and, when available, a photo showing in detail the mutant trait.
Search the database by phenotype
The data were recorded and organized in 17 Classes and 52 Sub classes. Each class has several sub classes listed in the drop-down list beside.
You must select at least one class to activate its list of sub classes and choose one of them. It is possible to select more then one class for obtaining mutants classified in all the selected classes.
The output is a code list of searched mutants that are linked with their description page.-
Search the database by plant code
If you know the plant code of a specific mutant, write the code in the text box. It is an alphanumeric code.
The output is a plant description page. -
Search the database by family name
If you know the family name of a specific mutant, write the code in the text box.
Each family name is designated by a specific name such as 1M-2-234 or 2M-2-1304-A in which the code "1", preceding the letter M, identifies families generated by 0.7% EMS treatment while the code "2" indicates families produced with 1% EMS experiments. The number between the "-" indicates the family generation.
The output contains the description of each plant of the family.
Plant description
Each mutant in the search results is described by a:
- Plant code: a unique code for each mutant in the database.
- Plant generation.
- Family name: a code for each mutant family.
- Class: a list of all the classes in which the mutant is classified into.
- Sub class: a list of all the sub classes in which the mutant is classified into.
- Detail: a photo showing in detail the mutant trait. The click on thumbnail opens a larger photo in the window.
- All plant: a photo thumbnail of the entire plant. The click on thumbnail opens a larger photo in the window.
